LODHRAN: Jamaat-e-Islami has decided to support Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in by-elections in NA-154 constituency of Punjab’s Lodhran city where polling is scheduled for December 23.

The decision was announced by JI’s Liaqat Baloch and PTI’s Chaudhry Sarwar following a meeting between senior leaders of the two parties.

Baloch told reporters that PTI’s Pervez Khattak and Jahangir Tareen had contacted his party leadership for support in the by-polls.

Sarwar added that both the sides had also agreed upon joint efforts for reforms in electoral process and an end to corruption.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has decided to depute Pakistan Army inside and outside polling stations for conducting free, fair and transparent by-elections in NA-154 on December 23.

Monday (December 21) is the last day of electioneering in the constituency, as ECP has barred all parliamentarians from visiting and taking part in the by-election campaign. NNI
