- Credit of CPEC, Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project goes to PPP

The verdict of judicial commission was very much expected as polling bags were not opened this was stated by Leader of Opposition in National Assembly and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) stalwart Syed Khursheed Shah while speaking exclusively to Sardar Khan Niazi in Roze News program Sachi Baat. Shah said that Imran Khan should have pushed for the opening of polling bags; he further added that his party had suggested opening polling bags for seventy constituencies. Shah was of the opinion that it is very difficult to expose a conspiracy. The PPP leader said that every political party played its part to bring Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) back to the parliament; he said that his party made countless efforts to bring to the parliament and even formulated jirga’s so that the matter could be resolved. He said that the PTI did return to the parliament after the formation of the Judicial Commission and accepted the system.
Responding to a question by Sardar Khan Niazi, Shah said that de-seating PTI will be a wrong step; he added that his party has talked to both Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) on the issue because the PPP believes that the parliament should work together for the prosperity of the country.
He mentioned that under the leadership of Benazir Bhutto the party played the role of opposition with just 17 members, Shah further added that if political parties indulge in aggressive politics dictators usually take advantage of the situation. He said that the PPP believes in politics of reconciliation and is against agitation.
Responding to a question on various legislations passed by the house, Shah said that in the last five years there has been some historic legislation which will benefit the country both in the short and long term.
Speaking about the economic progress of the country and the recently MoUs regarding the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, Shah said that the credit of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor goes to the PPP, he further mentioned that the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project was signed during the tenure of PPP. Shah recommended that the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project should be extended to India. He said that war is not the solution of anything; even enmities should be converted into friendships for the progress of the country. He said that the only war that should be fought is the war to accelerate economic progress. He said that people don’t even have basic facilities like clean water but billions are spent on other projects
Speaking about the history of PPP, Shah said that his party has never strived for power, we have always fought for the change in system. Shah said that his party is not trying to strengthen the Government of Prime Nawaz Sharif but rather it is trying to strengthen democracy in the country. He said that change should only be brought through the ballot, and politicians should be answerable to the public. Commenting on Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Shah said that Bhutto was irreplaceable even Benazir Bhutto wasn’t able to replicate Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
