The future T20 World Cup in Australia has not yet been ruled out for star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, according to BCCI president Sourav Ganguly. Bumrah suffered a back injury while playing for India.
The injury to India’s best bowler Bumrah before their opening Twenty20 International match against South Africa in Trivandrum was a major setback with the much-awaited World Cup only around the corner.
The right-arm pacer hasn’t yet been ruled out of the huge event, according to Ganguly.
According to Ganguly, Bumrah is still in the World Cup as of Friday, according to the digital station Xtra Time.
The former cricketer stated that “the next two or three” days could see a definitive decision.
A final choice might be made in the “next two or three days,” the former batsman added.
In order to play the home white-ball series, Mohammed Siraj took his position. Bumrah missed the current series, which India is now leading 1-0, and went to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore for scans. The medical team at the NCA is currently keeping an eye on him.
The Men in Blue will fly out to Australia on October 6 and take on Pakistan in the tournament’s opening match on October 23 at the storied Melbourne Cricket Ground.
