Jam Mehtab warns against poor conditions in health centres

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Health, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Saturday paid surprise visits to Government Children Hospital Nagan Chowrani, Rural Health center Baldia Town and I.I Depot and issued warnings to the staff who are either absent or found lethargic in their duties.

During his visit to Children Hospital, Jam Mehtab expressed displeasure over untidy condition of the staff and building and directed MS to ensure good condition there and employees should wear uniforms properly till Monday and daily report should be sent to him.

He also deputed a responsible person to monitor the situation and report him daily. Beside this minister health also visited 50 beded Rural Health Centre Baldia Town and observed that substandard building material was used in its construction and the development work was slow too. He said that due to negligence of health and works and service departments the delay was committed and the matter would be raised at higher forum. He said that the 50 beded hospital was inaugurated in 2006 but so far it had not been completed.

Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar also visited Central Depot of health department and checked inventory record. He said that corrupt officers and officials would not be spared and only good people had space in the department.
