Peshawar Zalmi’s bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed said that it was a mistake to play Saim Ayub in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) directly after his injury.
He said that when you return from injury, net sessions alone are not enough, match practice is needed to check form and rhythm.

Mushtaq Ahmed said that Saim Ayub should have played some club matches before the tournament or we should have arranged practice for him so that he could get his desired rhythm, but that did not happen.

Saim, who was injured during the South Africa tour, scored a fifty in his first match on his return to the PSL, but since then the bat has been silent. In the last match against Islamabad, he was dismissed after scoring just one run.
