shabazLAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif said on Sunday that the ongoing protests in Islamabad are damaging the economy and development of the country.

Referring to protest leaders, Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri, he said that they should have some mercy on the 18 million people of Pakistan.

Addressing regularization ceremony for lady health workers, Cheif Minister said that those talking about revolution belong to the elite class. He added that if the oppressed classes gear up to bring a revolution, the elite of the country will be defeated.

He praised the services of lady health workers. He urged the whole nation to support the victims of the disastrous flood in Pakistan. CM remarked that people should dedicate their Eid to the flood victims and help them in every way possible.

Shahbaz Sharif also announced an increase in the salaries of lady health workers and supervisors. Praising the services of lady health workers for providing quality healthcare to mothers and children, he said that they should play their role in creating awareness for the dengue epidemic.

The Cheif Minister said that the government will arrange professional training for all health workers.
