Islamabad on red alert, heavy security covers Constitution Avenue

ISLAMABAD (INP): The capital city administration has beefed up security in the Red Zone and deployed extra contingent of law enforcers to cope with any untoward incident.

The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri had warned of announcing his final call of action Thursday as he termed the day a ‘Day of Revolution’ after which the security measures were enhanced.

Police also evacuated cars from Constitution Avenue areas as part of a security measures. Roads leading to Secretariat Chowk have been sealed by the law enforcers. Media was only allowed to go inside without their vehicles.

Acting IG Islamabad Khalid Khattak and senior police officials visited the Red Zone and inspected security arrangements.
