Islamabad: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will arrive in Islamabad today on a two-day official visit to Pakistan. In a statement, the Foreign Office said the leadership of the two countries will have an exchange of views on strengthening bilateral relations.
Cooperation on regional and international issues of mutual concern will also be discussed. The Iranian President is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, which is significant after lifting of sanctions on Iran that has opened new avenues for enhancing economic interaction.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the visit of Hassan Rouhani will further deepen the existing fraternal ties between the two countries. The relations between the two countries are rooted in a long history of mutual trust, based on cultural, linguistic and religious bonds.
