TEHRAN: Iranian Presidential Office has expressed concern about misappropriation of Iranian funds by the United States, saying the US court violated the International Law and Iran will go to the international forums to retake its funds.
The Office said that violation of the International Law by the United States undermined the US good faith toward the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, jeopardizing validity of the latest accord Iran signed with the US on July 14, 2015.
The Presidential Office said that the US supreme court ruling is in sharp contrast with the international law, violating immunity of foreign governments in other states domestic courts and non-validity of the US extra-territorial law vis-a-vis the immunity of the sovereign states.
Earlier, Director General of Foreign Ministry’s Political and International Affairs Department Hamid Baeedinejad had said that the United States violates the International Law by misappropriation of Iranian funds.
Baeednejad said Iran reserves the right to take legal action with the international forums to restore the funds which has been the subject of the ‘US robbery’. DNA
