The bidding for the Indian Premier League 2025 edition is underway in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
On the first day of the IPL 2025 auction, Rs 110 crore was spent within an hour of the event starting, with all the franchises bidding on their favourite players.
India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was the most expensive player at the auction with a price tag of Rs 27 crore, which was bought by Lucknow Supergiants. Former Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer was acquired by Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 crore. England’s Jos Buttler was sold for Rs 15.75 crore, which was bought by Gujarat Titans. He was part of the Rajasthan Royals team last season.
Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh was added to the team by Punjab Kings for Rs 18 crore.
South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada was bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 10.75 crore. Glenn Maxwell joined Punjab Kings for Rs 4.20 crore. Mitchell Starc was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 11.75 crore. It should be noted that this year’s IPL 2025 mega auction is being held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25.
