CHAKWAL: The chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Imran Khan said that the beginning of big-wigs accountability was the dawn rising for new Pakistan.
Addressing public rally in Chakwal Imran said that he had spent eight days in prison and found only poor in it and no influential was there.
“However I had found robbers in parliament,” he alleged adding that in past accountability had done only with poor but after SC historic decision in Panama case was the start of new Pakistan.
“The NA-120 election will be decisive one and that will show either the people stand with the judiciary or giant robber,” he claimed adding that the corruption ‘godfather’ [Nawaz Sharif] has destroyed the institutions.
Commenting over the Asif Ali Zardari’s acquittal, PTI chairman said that NAB has given clean chit to a big plunder Zardar as such steps of NAB caused the rise in corruption.Imran Khan said he will take Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for corruption in Multan.
Launching PTI’s membership drive in 2017, Imran said NAB should get ready to sentence Shahbaz, as it won’t be able to get away with pardoning the Nawaz clan this time around.
Lashing out at NAB, and its Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, the PTI chief said the nation does not trust NAB.
“The entire Pakistani nation will not forgive chairman NAB for giving a clean chit to Asif Ali Zardari,” he said, alleging that corruption has increased, instead of decreasing, because of institutions like NAB.He said the NA-120 election in Lahore will prove that the nation stands with the Supreme Court’s decision.
“I was imprisoned for eight days and didn’t come across a single powerful person…I just met the common man in our jails,” Imran said, adding that only the common man — and not corrupt politicians placed in the upper echelons — is held accountable.Displaying the PTI membership card in his hand, the PTI chairman told the audience that the card will let the party know of its members’ details like their residence and constituency. He added that through the card, the party would also be able to take their members’ opinions on nominating party members for elections in the respective constituencies.
The rally was organised to launch the party’s membership drive for 2017.
