SLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that the last program of the IMF will be by making fundamental reforms.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Pakistan Economic Dashboard in Islamabad, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that the country’s economy is improving and inflation is continuously decreasing. The number of tax filers in the country has increased to increase the tax-to-GDP ratio.
He said that fundamental reforms have to be brought for sustainable economic stability. The banking sector is facilitating the investors. Inflation has come down more than we expected, fundamental reforms are essential for sustainable economic stability. Pakistan’s banking sector is on the way to improvement. Government will provide policy framework, banking sector will provide facilities to investors.
He said that our economy is progressing towards improvement, steps are being taken for economic development, the rate of inflation is continuously decreasing. Our last IMF program will be when we do fundamental reforms. We have to go for reforms, we have to increase the tax-to-GDP ratio. We have to use the place where our economy is to bring economic stability to the country.
The Finance Minister further said that the good news that Pakistan’s banking sector is moving towards improvement is a positive development for the country’s economy. Can play an important role in development and financial stability. An improved banking sector means increased investment opportunities, financial support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and easier access to banking services for ordinary citizens.
