SIALKOT, Nov `5 (INP): Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) once again on Saturday resorted to unprovoked firing and mortar shelling at Charwah Sector of Working Boundary. However, no of loss life was reported in the incident.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Punjab Rangers’ befitting response silenced enemy’s guns.
A month and a half ago, 14 civilians were killed and 50 others were injured by the firing of Indian troops across the border. Pakistan retaliated the firing, along with recording strongly worded diplomatic démarches.
In December last year, Pakistan and India had pledged to uphold the 2003 LoC ceasefire accord which had been left in tatters by repeated violations that year. The truce breaches had put the nascent bilateral peace dialogue on hold.
Ceasefire violations along the LoC and working boundary between Pakistan and India continue intermittently, with casualties reported on both sides.
