Continued Indian atrocities in held Kashmir have sparked unrest in the valley and once again issue of Kashmir has made the headlines in Pakistan and around the world. Pakistan has shown grief and anger over the Indian violence in Kashmir. Foreign Office has summoned the Indian High Commissioner, Gautam Bambawale, to convey its concerns over the killing of Kashmiri separatist leader Burhan Wani and other civilians in Kashmir. On Tuesday Pakistan also briefed permanent members of United Nations Security Council, United States, China, France, Russia, United Kingdom and the US over the brutalities in the Indian-held Kashmir carried out by the occupant forces.
Pakistan expressed serious concerns over the brutal killings of civilians and termed it sheer violation of the fundamental human rights. UNSC’s permanent members should take notice of the severity of the situation and press for transparent inquiry against the killings of innocent protesters. India is bound to respect human rights of Kashmiris under Security Council’s resolutions.
Jammu and Kashmir is disputed valley and awaiting the implementation of the UNSC resolutions. Therefore attempts of India to declare the deteriorating human rights condition in the valley as internal matter are unjustified. The Kashmiri resistance movement is a continued battle against illegal, immoral occupation of Kashmir by India. Kashmiris are deprived of their basic rights which include freedom of expression and movement. People of the Valley are suffering since long due to the adamant behavior of India to not discuss the Kashmir issue with Pakistan. Pakistan has pressed numerously on need to talk about Kashmir at every forum but India remained inflexible. But India should know that diplomatic settlement of Kashmir would lead towards a peaceful region.
Kashmir is a major regional issue and peace in the region is linked with its solution.
