
GALLE: In the first round of the two-match Test series against Pakistan played at the Galle International Stadium on Saturday, Sri Lanka elected to bat first after winning the toss.
Salman Ali Agha, an all-around player, is playing in his first Test for Pakistan. Mohammad Yousuf, the batting coach, gave the debut cap to Agha before the toss.
Additionally, Yasir Shah and Mohammad Nawaz have rejoined the starting lineup. The Test series is being played in accordance with the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship Cycle.
Mohammad Rizwan (vc, wk), Abdullah Shafique, Azhar Ali, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Salman Ali Agha, Shaheen Afridi, and Yasir Shah are Pakistani players. Babar Azam is the team’s captain.
Dinesh Chandimal, Oshanda Fernando, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Dhananjaya de Silva, Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Ramesh Mendis, Mahesh Theekshana, Kasun Rajitha, and Prabath Jayasuriya are all Sri Lankan players. Dimuth Karunartne is the captain.
