As Indian stars made significant progress, Pakistan captain Babar Azam was able to hold onto the top spot in the most recent International Cricket Council (ICC) T20I batter rankings.
India’s Shreyas Iyer & Rishabh Pant were among the greatest movers in the most recent rankings, which were announced on Wednesday as competition for the top spot heats up in advance of a ICC T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.
Iyer and Pant played significant contributions in India’s recent 4-1 victory over West Indies in the T20I series. After hitting an outstanding half-ton during the series’ final game in Florida, Iyer advanced six spots to the 19th spot in the overall batter rankings.
Pant, meanwhile, finished the series as the series’ second-leading run-scorer with 115 runs, and his volley 44 in the fourth game propelled the left-hander up seven spots to the 59th spot.
Babar now holds the top spot with 818 rating points, although India’s Suryakumar Yadav is close behind with 805 points. He was just two points below Babar’s 816 last week.
