ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority has gave a notice to the federal and provincial departments warning of a strong monsoon and severe rainfall in the coming days.
According to a recent forecast by the Pakistan Meteorological Department, monsoon winds are entering the upper and central portions of the country, the department stated in a news statement.
It stated that a fresh, potent monsoon low pressure injury system was moving over Sindh on Wednesday and would bring further, heavy rains through Sunday.
The NDMA instructed the relevant authorities to guarantee prompt evacuation of people from low-lying and flood-prone areas in accordance with evacuation plans and to ensure that shelter, food, and medications are available at relief camps.
