KARACHI, 15 OCT (DNA/INP) :Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon on Wednesday demanded unconditional apology from PTI chairman Imran Khan over his recent remarks against PPP supporters.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Sharjeel lamented Imran for hurling barbs on political opponents without any proofs. The information minister condemned the PTI chief’s statement wherein he said “living corpses and sheep will attend the PPP rally.”
“Khan should mind his language, two days back he defamed our leaders and disregarding masses which we condemn. None should indulge in such an irresponsible talk,” Memon said.
“It shows what value you give to the poor masses. You speak against VIP culture but leave your own supporters on roads,” he said. Sharjeel Inam Memon claimed that Pakistan People’s Party was going to stage big historic rally in Karachi on October 18.
He said millions of PPP supporters are waiting to listen the historic address of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Memon said Bilawal will address the nation regarding PPP October 18 tragedy and other national issues.
He said some opponents were not ready to accept the popularity of the PPP among masses. He said he feared that streets of Karachi might look short in view of the ‘storm of people’ who would be attending the PPP rally.
Replying to a question, he said thousands of supporters will join PPP rally on Oct 18 for which foolproof security arrangements had been made. “Some people can’t simply digest the fact that PPP is going to hold a biggest ever public meeting,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sindh government has issued instructions to Inspector General of Police Sindh and Commissioner Karachi Division to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Pakistan Peoples Party Jalsa on October 18th at Mazar-e-Quaid (Bagh-e-Jinnah) as per prevailing Standards of Procedures.
Home Secretary Sindh in his directive asked them to ensure fool poof security arrangements viz a viz the leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party and the public attending the Jalsa.
Dr. Niaz Ali Abbasi directed to ensure comprehensive traffic arrangements to avoid inconvenience to the public attending the Jalsa and the citizens of the city elsewhere in Karachi. He also instructed to ensure availability of health cover by arranging first aid near the venue and keeping all major hospitals on high alert.
