LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday denied ‘rumours’ about his third marriage in a private ceremony in London.
In his message posted on microblogging website Twitter, Khan stated that the news is entirely baseless and has no truth to it. He went on to say that he would announce and celebrate it publicly as soon as that happens however, there is nothing of the sort for now.
PTI spokesperson, Naeemul Haq’s reaction came before the party chief in which he denied the news. Clarifying his whereabouts in London, Haq stated that Khan is spending time with his sons there and is scheduled to return on Sunday.
PTI Secretary General Jehangir Tareen said he spoke to Imran Khan after reports of his marriage in the media and the party chief has denied the speculative report.
Earlier on Sunday, during an interview with Hindustan Times, Imran Khan had stated that it is not in his blood to give up and the idea of marrying for the third time is ‘more open than before’.
When the Indian journalist asked: “Would you contemplate marriage a third time?”
Khan replied: “Of course. It’s not in my blood to give up. But it takes a lot. There’s nothing worse than divorce, I tell you. It’s one of the worst things that can happen to a human being. It doesn’t matter who initiates it, it’s a terrible experience. So I would be a bit more careful.”
