DUBLIN: Pakistan defeated Ireland by 255 runs in their first One Day International against Ireland at Dublin (Malahide).
Imad Wasim grabbed five wickets for 14 runs in 5.4 overs. Ireland were all out at 82 runs in 23.4 overs.
Batting first Pakistan made 337 for six in rain-reduced 47 overs. Sharjeel Khan top-scored with a blistering knock of 152 in the game after Ireland won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first.
Shoaib Malik was 57 not out.
Pakistani team captained by Azhar Ali, included two debutants in spin-bowling all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz and seamer Hasan Ali.
Umar Gul returned to Pakistan’s bowling attack after 16 months, though paceman Wahab Riaz and leg-spinner Yasir Shah were omitted.
