ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday sent a contempt of court notice to the acting PEMRA Chairman Parvez Rathore for violating court orders.

Justice Noor-ul-Haq of IHC was hearing the PEMRA Chairman case. Malik Tariq Mehmood, lawyer representing Fareeha Iftikhar and Israr Abbasi, in his arguments, said that Rathore violated the court orders.

He added that Pervez Rathore is working as PEMRA Chief despite the court orders against him.

Justice Noor-ul-Haq Qureshi, after hearing the arguments, remarked that court orders are being consistently violated. The judge ordered Rathore to submit his reply within seven days.

The court has also ordered Rathore to appear in person if he fails to furnish his reply within seven days.-DNA
