ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday rejected the government’s notification against increase in private schools’ fees and declared the move ‘justified’.

Justice Amir Farooq of IHC announced short verdict in the fee hike case.

The court has directed the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) to seek recommendations from the private educational institutions before making new rules.

It may be mentioned here that the top private educational institutes had challenged the government notification in the IHC on September 23, 2015.

The government had issued directives either to refund the amount charged from students or adjust to the next payable fee.
