Army Chief General Asim Munir Chief has said that such terrorist groups that spread unrest in the name of Baloch identity are actually a stain on the honor and dignity of the Baloch nation.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the General expressed these views while interacting with the participants of the 15th National Workshop Balochistan at GHQ.

According to the Pakistan Army spokesperson, the Chief of Army Staff met the participants of the 15th session of the National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters today.

The ISPR said that this workshop has been going on since 2016 and involves a large number of members of parliament, bureaucrats, civil society, youth, academicians and media representatives from Balochistan.

The Pakistan Army spokesperson said that this workshop includes various seminars, group discussions and visits to different parts of the country. The workshop aims to provide a better understanding of important issues at the national and provincial levels to the future leaders of Balochistan and prepare for a joint national response.

According to the ISPR, the army chief highlighted the government’s continuous efforts to improve the socio-economic conditions of Balochistan and said that the scope of current and future development projects is enough to refute all these misleading propaganda.

The army chief said that several projects are now yielding results from which the people of Balochistan are directly benefiting.

According to the Pakistan Army spokesperson, the army chief appreciated the role of civil society in raising awareness among the youth of Balochistan and said that the process of development and prosperity will be further strengthened with the participation of civil society.

General Asim Munir said that foreign-sponsored terrorism is the biggest threat to the security and development of Balochistan. The evil elements who want to destabilize Balochistan through violent acts, fear and instability will never be allowed to succeed in their nefarious designs.

According to the ISPR, he said that terrorism has no religion, sect or nationality and it can only be fought with national unity and firm resolve. Such terrorist groups that spread unrest in the name of Baloch identity are actually a stain on the honor and dignity of the Baloch nation.

The Army Chief said that Pakistan desires peace in the region and the world, however, if Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are challenged, it will be responded with full force to protect the honor of the nation and the security of the people.

General Asim Munir said that Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their war against terrorism with the full support of the people.

According to the ISPR, the workshop concluded after a question and answer session.
