No evidence exists against me, PM or my siblings: Hussain Nawaz
ISLAMABAD: Son of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Hussain Nawaz on Thursday observed after attending hearing of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) over Panamagate, that politicians have been facing accountability for decades, from Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy to the present times.
While talking to the media outside Federal Judicial Academy, Nawaz said that he recorded his statement before the JITand answered their questions.
Sources privy to the academy have reported that Nawaz has filed documents pertaining to family’s assets along with details of the businesses and his tax returns.
Premier’s son complained today that the probe committee kept him waiting for some two hours. Nawaz had reached the JIT headquarters at around 10:00am and he departed after 06:00 hrs.
He said that his counsel was not allowed to accompany him during the interrogation however, whether his answers satisfied the committee or not, is a question that the media should ask the JIT officials, he said.
He reiterated his availability to answer questions of the JIT and said that he would appear before the committee whenever he’d be summoned.
Premier’s son observed that how would the committee prove anything against the family when neither his siblings nor his father never committed a crime.
Responding to a question inquisitive of officials’ attitude towards him, Nawaz said that he had not indulged in a media talk to discuss people’s behaviour however, if the proceedings would not go as per the law, the issue would be taken to the apex court. NNI
