Huge increase in vendors in Cantonment areas causing Traffic Problems

RAWALPINDI:  Roadside illegal vendors and sheds for sale of fruits, vegetables and other consumer items  are causing problems for the road users and  spoil the beauty of the cantonment areas by throwing the litters and other wastes.

According to details, many vendors have been occupying pedestrian roads for years disrupting traffic flow, and pedestrians are helpless to walk on roads instead of footpaths which cause serious traffic issues as well as life threats to the pedestrians.

The residents of the area say that the entire situation is due to negligence of the administration, which is unable to control such issues.  On the other hand a vendor while talking to this agency  told that they regularly give monthly to the cantonment officials to do their business.

The residents appealed the  administration to take immediate action against such illegal vendors to make the roads and footpaths clear from occupiers.
