ISLAMABAD (INP): A second petition was filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday against Imran Khan’s August 14 ‘Azadi March’ in the federal capital.
The petitioner President Anjuman Tajiran Pakistan, Ajmal Baloch stated in his petition that PTI’s protest will cause harm to businesses and civic life in the city.
He demanded that a separate area out of city be given to PTI and PAT for their protests. The court later referred the matter to Chief Justice.
A petition filed in the IHC by Abdullah Tahir Advocate has already challenged the protest march in Islamabad.
Meanwhile, The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday adjourned till September’s first week a petition challenging army deployment in Islamabad.
A bench of IHC led by chief Justice, Justice Anwar Kasi, heard the application today and observed that ruling could not be issued without hearing the version of Defence Ministry.
The bench has nominated senior lawyers, including Abdul Hafiz Hafeez Pirzada, S.M Zafar, Khalid Anwar, Hamid Khan, Taufiq Asif and Senator Raza Rabbani, to assist the court in the case regarding imposition of Article 245 which allows government to deploy military for security reasons
