Haider Abbas Rizvi’s coordinator gunned down

KARACHI: Unknown attackers hurled a cracker on a police mobile in North Nazimabad area of Karachi on Thursday morning.

According to police, unidentified assailants riding motorcycles ambushed the police vehicle with a cracker near Farooq-e-Azam Mosque in North Nazimabad and fled from the scene.

Fortunately, no casualty was reported in the attack.

Additional contingents of security forces were called in along with the bomb disposal squad.

Meanwhile Salman Kazmi, coordinator to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Haider Abbas Rizvi was gunned down in Naseerabad area of Karachi.

According to police, a man, identified as Salman Kazmi, was targeted at a barber shop. The deceased was later identified as a coordinator to Haider Abbas Rizvi.

Following the incident, MQM leader Wasay Jalil confirmed in a tweet on social media that Salman Kazmi was martyred in an attack in North Nazimabad.

Meanwhile, Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) organizational committee was dissolved Thursday over directives of party Chief Altaf Hussain.Rabita Committee has taken all matters from organizational committee.

The committee members locked their offices across the city and gave all keys to Rabita Committee. NNI/INP
