Govt to continue provide relief to flood affected families: President

ISLAMABAD (INP): President Mamnoon Hussain has expressed profound grief and sorrow over loss of precious human lives as a result of the unfortunate incident of capsizing of a boat in floodwater in Multan on Sunday.

In his message to the bereaved families, the President expressed his sympathies and prayed for their courage to bear their losses with fortitude.

The President on the occasion also reiterated that the Government would continue making every possible effort to provide relief to the flood affected families.

Meanwhile,Pakistan Army has shifted 3,000 marooned people in flood-hit areas of Multan and Muzaffargarh to safer places.

According to ISPR, Multan Corps Commander Lt Gen Abid Pervaiz is paying visits of flood-hit areas on daily basis.

Five helicopters of Pakistan Army were also providing eatables to stranded people. So far, 15,000 kilograms ration has been provided to the flood victims.

Similarly, Pakistan Army has also set up medical camps in Multan and Muzaffargarh to provide medical treatment to patients in flood-hit areas.

Pakistan Navy’s flood relief activities are continuing along with the rescue operation in flood hit areas of Jhang and Multan.

Pakistan Navy handed over 10 tons of ration for flood affectees to Saeed Manais; Minister for Special Education & Incharge Minister for flood relief in Chiniot district for flood affectees.


Pakistan Navy rescue teams comprising specialized divers equipped with requisite gear, Zulu boats and helicopters are conducting extensive rescue and relief operation from Multan to Muzaffargarh.
