ISLAMABAD: Federal government Thursday in its reply to Supreme Court said that PTI call for opening of four constituencies is against the constitution.
Attorney General office submitted reply to the apex court hearing PTI’s petition regarding electoral reforms.
In its reply, the government of Pakistan is of the view that PTI’s demand for recounting of votes in four constituencies is against the constitution and so the petition is non-maintainable.
It further said the apex court could not hear the petitions pertaining to elections under article 184-3 and only election tribunals could hear such petitions under article 225.
The government’s reply further stated that election tribunals are already hearing such petitions. Agencies
