KARACHI:  Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has once again lashed out at the government, saying that ‘better governance’ is demand of all Pakistanis and not just Pak Army.

Talking to media at Karachi airport, Khan said, “I don’t know what military wants, but good governance is demand of the people of entire Pakistan.”

The remarks came two days after ISPR’s statement saying that there was a need to match governance initiatives with military operations to eliminate militancy from the country.

Imran Khan said citizens demand to improve police, employment, courts, law and order. “Law & order and clean drinking water is what people need in Karachi and rest of Sindh,” he said.

“Karachi is a metropolis, a large population center and desperately needs better transport solutions,” Khan said, adding that, “Metro Bus Service in Islamabad is mostly empty.” He said people of Sindh are badly seeking ‘change’.

The PTI chief said that several people were killed in Sindh while eleven of PTI workers were murdered in Punjab during first phase of local government elections as the governance is non-existent. He said the local government elections in Sindh are being contested with the help of police as they file cases against political opponents on the directives of the ruling party.

Khan said the police in ‘Naya Pakistan’ will be free of political influence and focus will be on how to reduce poverty. To a question regarding NA-122 by-election results, he said that PTI will seek justice on NA-122.

He said there is no information on 21,000 votes that how they were added or removed. 4,500 went out of NA-122, while 26,000 were added but the ECP has record of only 812 voters.

“All these old political parties are united. You saw this in Speaker election which is also questionable,” he added. Khan said he is visiting Sindh for two days and will return to Karachi at the end of the tour.
