ISLAMABAD: MQM leader Babar Ghauri today voiced his opposition to the demand of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation over alleged fraud in the last year’s general elections.
Speaking on the floor of assembly, Ghauri assured the prime minister that he cannot be forcefully removed from his office.
The Karachi-based senator said that his party would support the prime minister for the supremacy of parliament.
“It is unfortunate that local governments are not held under a democratic set-up,” he said, stressing on the need to adopt a more democratic approach. The LG system is crucial for the uplifting of a common man, he opined.
He urged the ministers to refrain from making provocative statements against protesting parties. NNI
