ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Monday paid a farewell visit to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the PM House.
During the meeting which was held in a very cordial atmosphere, the Prime Minister lauded the dedicated, meritorious and exemplary services of General Raheel Sharif for Pakistan and its armed forces. He said General Raheel Sharif proved beyond a shadow of doubt that he was one of the finest military leaders of his generation.
The Prime Minister said this sense of duty and unconditional dedication and commitment to our motherland had also been evident in the person and career of Gen Raheel. He said that in the last three years, the COAS made immense contributions to fight the menace of terrorism and to restore peace in Karachi and Balochistan.
President Mamnoon Hussain on Monday also eulogized the professionalism and preparedness of Pakistan Army and said that, ‘The defence of the country is in safe and capable hands.’
The President said this while talking to the outgoing Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif who paid a farewell visit at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
President Mamnoon Hussain paid glowing tributes to General Raheel Sharif for his invaluable services in curbing the menace of extremism and terrorism through operation Zarb-e-Azb and restoration of law and order in all parts of the country. INP/NNI
