MANCHESTER: Chief of General Staff United Kingdom General Sir Nicholas Patrick Carter has proclaimed Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif as the best commander and said he sees leadership qualities of Raheel Sharif with great respect.
While talking to media during an event of Pakistani community in Manchester, he said the forces of Pakistan and United Kingdom had deep-rooted ties.
He lauded the General Sharif saying, “He is one of my good friends,” adding Pakistan’s sacrifices in connection with the continued war against terrorism are commendable.
Replying to a query regarding the ‘heightened situation’ at Indo-Pakistan border, the British general was non-committal saying the leaderships on both side of border are extremely capable and they will go for the best option avoiding to escalate the situation.
The head of the British Army also told young Muslims in Manchester that UK needed their skills as it faced the challenges of the 21st century.
