Legend cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has declared India as the favorites to win the much anticipated Pakistan-India tie. Gavaskar said that both team are suffering from poor form, with Pakistan losing the home series against New Zealand in UAE a few months ago and India having a troublesome time in Australia.
Gavaskar said that Pakistan will find it hard to cope with the absence of off spinner Saeed Ajmal who has been one of the most lethal bowlers in world cricket in the last few years. He added that Ajmal was the backbone of the Pakistani team and without him I can’t see Pakistan causing much trouble to the strong Indian batting lineup.
Former India batsman VVS Laxman also predicted an easy victory for India. He said that India is used to playing under pressure and they will cope with the challenged posed by the Pakistani team. He nonetheless labeled Pakistan as an unpredictable team, capable of some surprise.
Meanwhile Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal is hopeful of a Pakistan victory. “I have a feeling this time history will change because this Indian team is undergoing lot of problems and don’t appear to have adjusted as yet to conditions in Australia,” Ajmal was quoted as saying. Ajmal added that I have always played cricket with a positive mentality and advised the Pakistan team to go into the game with a positive frame of mind without any fear.
