ISLAMABAD (INP) A delegation of Traders Welfare Association, G-11 Markaz, Islamabad visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry led by its President Naeem Akhtar Awan and highlighted the various problems being faced by the business community of the area.

Addressing the delegation, Muhammad Shakeel Munir, Acting President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry said that close liaison between market associations and ICCI was very important to discuss issues and develop consensus to send a strong message to the policymakers for urgent redress of traders’ problems.

He said almost all the commercial centers in Islamabad including G-11 Markaz were facing many problems in promoting business activities due to lack of proper facilities and called upon the CDA to take measures for improving the basic infrastructure in markets including roads, footpaths, availability of public toilets, water filtration plants etc. He assured that ICCI would take market associations on board on important matters for highlighting their voice at all relevant forums.

Speaking at the occasion, Naeem Akhtar Awan, President, Traders Welfare Association, G-11 Markaz, Islamabad said that their Association was without having its own office and he demanded from CDA to allocate a proper space in G-11 Markax for the establishment of Association’s office, which will help in serving the cause of traders of the area more effectively.

He said G-11 Markaz was one of the important business centers in the federal capital and CDA should provide better facilities to the traders of the area for smooth growth of business activities. He appreciated the initiative of ICCI for inviting market associations to discuss issues and hoped that the Chamber would play a positive role for resolving problems of markets.

Malik Azhar Hameed Patron in Chief, Ch. Khalid Gujar Senior Vice Chairman and Ch. Zahid Rafiq, General Secretary, Traders Welfare Association, G-11 Markaz, Islamabad were also in the delegation.
