Funeral prayers of Junaid Jamshed offered

KARACHI: The funeral prayers of singer turned Islamic preacher Junaid Jamshed were offered at AKD Ground in Karachi on Thursday.
Maulana Tariq Jameel addressed the participants and led the funeral. The deceased was laid to rest at Dar ul Aloom, Korangi according to his wish.
The funeral was also attended by Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, senior civil and military officials, and people from all walks of life. The family members of late Junaid Jamshed were also present on the occasion.
Large number of people including family members, political leaders and friends participated in the last ritual of Junaid Jamshed.
Strict security arrangements were ensured by the local administration to avoid any untoward situation.
Earlier, Junaid Jamshed’s body was taken to Karachi on C-130 plane while his funeral prayers were offered at Nur Khan Airbase, Rawalpindi which was also attended by the air chief of Pakistan. He was also given guard of honor at the base.
Meanwhile, the funeral prayers for Junaid Jamshed’s wife, Nayha Junaid, were offered at Askari Ground in Lahore.
Nayha’s body was received by her mother at PIMS Hospital Islamabad after identification on Tuesday.
On December 7, Junaid Jamshed and his wife were martyred in Pakistan Airlines International (PIA) PK-661 flight crash that killed 47 other people as well.
