ISLAMABAD : Former chief of Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), AS Dulat has stressed the need for resolving Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) issue through political means. Stressing that eliminating militancy in the IOK would not end the problem, Dulat asked the Modi government to address the issue politically. He said this in a telephonic interview with a local media outlet in Srinagar. Dulat said that coming together of six political parties in IOK is a positive development. He said this in reference to the joint statement issued by six so-called main political parties in IOK wherein they reiterated that they are committed to strive for the restoration of Article 370 and 35A. Replying to a query, Dulat said that there is no political process or political activity going on in Kashmir and when the political process commences, there must be involvement of Delhi and all the political parties in it. “But Kashmiri people are very wise. If there is any dialogue going on, it must go in open and prominently,” he said and added that he used to say that a common Kashmir wants peace and friendship between India and Pakistan,” he added.
