Former PM Imran Khan the leader of the PTI, was given pre-arrest bail in two cases that were filed against him in relation to a PTI rally that took place in Islamabad on August 20.
The former PM Imran Khan has been charged with terrorism in connection with his contentious comments about a female judge at the rally, and a separate first information report (FIR) has been filed against him on suspicion of violating Section 144 (which prohibits public gatherings of more than four people) on the day of the rally in the nation’s capital.
Judge Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan granted interim bail to Imran till September 1 in exchange for a surety of $100,000 during today’s hearing of his bail request in the case involving his comments regarding the judge. Before Imran arrived at the court today, his bail request in the terrorist case was submitted at an ATC at the Federal Judicial Complex in Islamabad.
According to the defence argument, the police “acted out of retaliation” when they filed the case against the PTI leader.
If Imran is brought into detention, the PTI urged supporters to “come out on the streets and then travel to Islamabad the next day.”
“Clear instructions from the given party!”The hashtag “Imran Khan is our red line” was also added in Urdu.
Imran’s attorney, Babar Awan, gave opening remarks at the hearing.

He clarified that the petitioner was actually Magistrate Ali Javed.
Awan claimed that a simple command like “have some shame” was taken as a threat.
The attorney noted that Imran had stated at the Islamabad rally that the inspector general and deputy inspector general of police in Islamabad would not be spared.
