Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that the government is focusing on shifting Pakistan’s economy towards export-led growth to achieve sustainability in the balance of payments.
The Finance Minister, while giving an interview to a foreign TV, said that Pakistan will issue Panda Bonds by June 2025. Pakistan intends to join China’s capital markets through Panda Bonds. Through this bond issue, Pakistan intends to raise about US$200 million from Chinese investors.
The Finance Minister said that the government is focusing on shifting Pakistan’s economy towards export-led growth to achieve sustainability in the balance of payments.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb stressed the importance of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC 2.0) and said that the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will attract more Chinese companies and investments.
He said that he is committed to increasing financial cooperation with Hong Kong.
The Finance Minister invited Hong Kong to send delegations to explore trade and financial opportunities in Pakistan and said that Hong Kong could be a suitable location for joint ventures between Chinese and Pakistani companies.
