PESHAWAR: Five terrorists killed in the deadly attack on an Air Force camp in Peshawar’s Badaber area have been identified Sunday.
According to details, three of the terrorists Adnan, Sirajuddin and Ibrahim belonged to Khyber Agency whereas two namely Rab Nawaz and Muhammad Sher Ali Khan are from Swat.
29 people were martyred in the attack at a Mosque inside the residential compound of Pakistan Air Force. A total of 14 terrorists had been killed after security forces launched an operation to repulse the attack, four belonged to Khyber tribal agency while one belonged to the Swat valley. According to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), five terrorists have been identified.
The identified attackers included 27-year-old Ibrahim, 19-year-old Adnan, 21-year-old Siraj Uddin and 20-year-old Rab Nawaz from Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency. A fifth attacker was identified as Mohammad Ishaq, 27, from Swat. Announcing a Rs1 million for anyone providing information about the terrorists, political agent Shahab Ali Shah confirmed that four attackers belonged to Khyber agency. However, the identities of the remaining nine attackers are yet to be ascertained.
Earlier on Saturday, the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology collected specimens from the bodies of 14 terrorists who were killed by security forces during the attack. The Counter-Terrorism Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa registered a First Information Report (FIR) against unknown suspects on terror charges in relation to Friday’s deadly attack on the PAF camp in Badaber. Section 7, 148, 149, 427, 353, 324, 302 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and other terrorism-related charges were framed against 14 suspects in the FIR. In wake of the attack, police operation in various areas of Peshawar is also underway. At least 88 suspects including Afghan refugees were arrested from Ashab Baba area in a joint search operation of security forces and police.
