KARACHI (INP): Rangers personnel on Thursday arrested five suspects, including a member of a banned militant outfit, during an operation in different parts of Karachi.

Speaking to a private TV channel, Pakistan Rangers Sindh spokesman Major Sibtain said that the operation was conducted in the areas of Sharafi Goth, Zaman Town and Karnal Basti.

A member of a banned militant outfit, allegedly involved in sectarian killings was also among the arrested suspects, the spokesman said.

A huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the suspects’ possession.

Targeted operations led by Rangers’ forces with the support of police are ongoing in the city under a directive issued by the federal government against criminals already identified by federal, military and civilian agencies.
