ISLAMABAD: A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against former Gerry’s Group General Manager Arjumand Azhar Hussain on misbehaving, filming in the plane, forcing to offload and using abusive language against MNA Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani. According to details in a meeting of Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privilege held here on Thursday, Secretary Aviation, Muhammad Ali Gardezi told committee that Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has filed an FIR against Arjumand Azhar Hussain for misbehaving with the member of National Assembly and now the matter is in the hands of police that how they will manage to confine Arjumand and if police failed in taking any action we will think about other options. He further said that PIA has sent a written letter to all the airlines to restrict Arjumand to fly in any domestic route but we could not impose restrictions to anyone on international travel as it is beyond our jurisdictions. Committee members debate on the question of privilege moved by Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani for offloading him from PIA flight number 370 on September 15. Dr. Ramesh in previous meeting demanded the detention of Arjumand and blamed the PIA management, Capitan of Plane and Managing Director (MD) PIA for not taking any action against the passenger that was the cause of his offload form the PIA plane. It is pertinent to mention here that Arjumand was fired from his job at the Gerry’s Groupin soon after the incident and it was said that the termination was the result of political pressure exerted by Senator Rehman Malik who was also forcefully offloaded form the same flight.
