FIR against MNA’s relative adjudged fake by NA body

ISLAMABAD: Fake First Information Report (FIR) under the charge of section 154 lodged against nephew of Member National Assembly (MNA) from District Bhakkar Abdul Majeed Khan Khanan Khail of PML (N) under Gambling Act 1978 by SHO Bhakkar Muhammad Afzal Qatali Khail. According to details in a meeting of National Assembly Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privilege held here on Thursday, while discussing the Question of Privilege (QoP) raised by Abdul Majeed Khan Khanan Khail after detail discussion members without dissent articulated the FIR as fake after founding negations manifest against investigation report by Bakkar police and contradiction in the statements of DPO and SHO Bakkar during the meeting.

According to FIR a copy of which is available with Daily Patriot police on the secret information through reliable source held 223 persons including Fahad Khan Nephew of MNA red handed who were playing gambling through fighting of cocks at the residence of Fahad Khan on February 5 and cash amount of 169530 rupees, 20 Mobile phones, 25 metal claws and 8 cocks were recovered from their possession.  While Abdul Majeed briefed the committee that not a single evidence was provided by Bakkar police department that could establish the involvement of Fahad and his fellows in gambling. S.A Iqbal Qadri asked the SHO to show the copy of dairy record of the incidence that was not provided by police. Chairman Committee Chaudhry Asad Ur Rehman demanded the detail of total number of FIR’s lodged against gamblers in the tenure of DPO that was also not missing. Muhammad Raza Hayat Harraj demanded suspension of SHO for lodging fake FIR and requested to call the DPO BAKKAR, RPO Sargodha and IG Police of Punjab in next meeting to inquire the matter. Committee has deferred the matter until next meeting and called DPO, RPO and IG Police in next meeting to inquire the matter. Committee also deferred the proposed amendment moved by Sheikh Salahuddin and others regarding Sub Rule (1) of Rule 10 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly 2007 that was about the election of Deputy Speaker at same time instead of after the selection of Speaker that is already opposed by the Minister of parliamentary Affairs in their comments regarding amendment.
