PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested an official of National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) for issuing Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) to Afghan nationals here on Thursday.
According to officials, the FIA team conducted operation in Hayatabad locality of the provincial capital Peshawar during which an accused Muhammad Rizwan, serving as Junior Executive at NADRA Headquarters was detained.
The nabbed accused was involved in issuing CNICs to illegal Afghan immigrants.
During preliminary investigation Rizwan admitted so far issuing cards to 87 Afghanis.
Sources said that Muhammad Rizwan was nabbed on directives of Interior Ministry and he was under interrogation.
