Islamabad: The Islamabad Police alone spent more than Rs 330 million to deal with the PTI protest.
According to police sources, the three-day protest of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf cost the police Rs 332.8 million. More than 800 containers were installed to seal the federal capital Islamabad from 24 different locations.
The Islamabad Police spent Rs 72.8 million on containers. Today is the seventh day since the containers were installed, while the costs of these containers are still increasing on the police’s shoulders.
In the last 7 days, an expenditure of Rs 72.8 million has been incurred. The police had arranged 35,000 tear gas shells for the protest. The Islamabad Police used shells worth Rs 150 million in 3 days.
Similarly, an expenditure of Rs 110 million was incurred on rubber bullets and 2,500 guns. These expenses do not include the arrangements for Rawalpindi.
