FCCI president asks businessmen to cooperate for sectarian harmony during Muharram

FAISALABAD, Oct 26 (INP)  Rizwan Ashraf President the Faisalabad Chamber of
Commerce and Industry has urged businessmen and public at large to fully
cooperate with police and local administration for the maintenance of
sectarian harmony during the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram.

In a statement issued here today, he said that Government of The Punjab,
Local Administration and concerned departments have already completed
necessary arrangements to keep the situation calm and peaceful so that
people could observe the first ten days of Muharram with complete solemnity
and peace of mind by paying tribute to the grand son of Prophet Muhammad
Peace be Upon Him. However, the success of these efforts totally depends on
the cooperation of people from all walks of life; he said and added that
people should fulfill their national obligations with a strong religious
commitment so that miscreants could not exploit this situation by fanning
sectarianism among the followers of different sects.

He further said that special control rooms have been established at
divisional and district level to deal with any Muharram related emergency.
These control rooms will remain open round the clock to receive and pass on
any information to the concerned officials and organizations to control the
situation well in time.

He also paid best tribute to the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain
and said that Muslims should forge unity and play their conscious role to
maintain peace during the month of Muharram.
