Altaf appeals govt and protesters to show patience
KARACHI/ PESHAWAR (INP): The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has said that the government and protesters must show patience.
He said that both the parties must restart the negotiations in order to reach a political solution of this crisis.
Talking to media on Thursday, Altaf Hussain said that protesters should keep their protests peaceful and must avoid using derogatory words and statements against other political leaders. He said that the speeches must be polite.
The MQM chief said that Pakistan belonged to everyone including the government and the opposition. He advised both the parties to restart the negotiations in order to find a political situation of the current crisis. He asked the government and the protesters to agree to a solution that does not humiliate any of the two.
Altaf Hussain warned that both the parties must reach a political solution as soon as possible otherwise the state will have to act for the safety of the country. He asked the protesters to remain peaceful.
In related development, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) head Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Thursday met Jamaat-e-Islami leader Sirajul Haq in Islamabad.
According to reports, the two leaders discussed the ongoing political impasse between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
Both stressed on resolution of all political issues through talks. Sirajul Haq also congratulated Fazlur Rehman on his election as head of his party.
