KHYBER AGENCY (INP): Ameer Jamat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that FATA is part of Pakistan but its people have been denied their basic rights for the last seventy years.
He said the youth in the tribal areas was not ready to accept the FCR or to bow to the political agents.
He was addressing a public meeting at Pakka Tara Qambar Khel, in Khyber Agency. Siraj called upon the government to immediately announce the merger of the tribal areas in KPK. He said the tribal people had made huge sacrifices for the abolition of the FCR. He said the situation demanded that the FATA people be given representation in the provincial assembly and also the National Assembly.
The JI chief asked the government what was the obstacle in the implementation of the Sartaj Aziz committee’s recommendations. Siraj called for prompt return of the IDPs to their homes so that they could be accounted for in the census and their voting right was not affected. He also demanded releasing the blocked ID cards of the tribal people.
He said the terrorism in the country was the result of Pervez Musharaf’s wrong policies. He said as long as the rulers followed Musharraf’s policies, peace would not be restored and terrorism would not end. He said the exit of the NATO forces was essential for peace in the region.
