The recent report from the Global Fake News Watchdog states, “The fake news surrounding the protests has had a devastating impact,” and “The unchecked spread of unverified information has tarnished Pakistan’s global image.” This report leaves me grappling with a troubling question: Where do we go from here?
The spread of fake news is essentially a cyber war being waged against Pakistan, and it poses a significant threat to society. This is arguably one of the most dangerous challenges that any society has ever encountered. Don’t just take my word for it; the report clearly states that urgent measures must be taken to combat fake news in Pakistan.
PTI has demonstrated a lack of political acumen or a disinterest in genuine politics. It is now up to PTI to consider whether it is a true political party or merely a proxy serving to undermine society from within.
Although it may be bitter to accept, the reality is that PTI is consistently compromising national interests for its own trivial political gains. The message is clear: return us to power at any cost, or face compromised political stability and the erosion of economic opportunities caused by the cult.
Whenever a state guest visits Pakistan or an opportunity arises, PTI calls for protests. Whether this is merely a coincidence is anyone’s guess. However, it is clear that there seems to be a method behind this madness.
The overwhelming wave of misinformation, coupled with political instability, demands our urgent attention. This is not just a matter of politics or freedom of expression; it transcends mere political activity and requires a deep, thoughtful response. We must confront this complexity head-on to safeguard our society.
As what has been done so far is not enough, the new focus is on civil disobedience. It is for society to evaluate whether it is actually a mutiny or civil disobedience.
The discourse surrounding civil disobedience warrants critical examination: what are its underlying purposes and justifications? As Pakistan navigates a path toward economic revival, observable indicators suggest positive developments within the economy. It is imperative to consider whether the pursuit of civil disobedience aligns with or detracts from this vital progress. Should the focus not be on fostering economic stability rather than undermining it? What, then, is the ultimate objective?
Letโs keep the roads clear and free from chaos. Itโs time for our leaders to settle their differences inside the parliament, where real change can happen. Stability is crucial right now, and many of us are fed up with the ongoing turmoil that the PTI continues to engage in.
