ISLAMABAD: Embassy of Azerbaijan and Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies jointly organized Calligraphic Exhibition of renowned Artist Mr.Azeem Iqbal titled “ Colors of Peace and Harmony” at Pakistan National Council of Arts, Islamabad.
While addressing on the occasion Mr.Muhammad Azam, Federal Secretary, Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage said that such events would further strengthen the cultural bond between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. He praised the works of the Artist for his outstanding innovations and use of various mediums to promote not only the great traditional art but also the softer image of Pakistan as well. He said that organizing such events not only provide opportunity for friendly exchanges but also promote unity, harmony, peace and cultural awareness. The art of calligraphy, which has a significant place in Islamic history, had attracted many artists.
While talking earlier, H.E. Mr.Dasghin Shikarov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan said that Azerbaijan and Pakistan share various historical traditions, cultural heritage and through the dynamics of sharing these kinds of knowledge and promoting the artist, the relationship between the countries is actually reaching to a manifold.
Ms.Farhat Asif, President Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, highlighted the objective of organizing such an event. She said that this event is meant to promote the Artist and improving their visibility to the world hence promoting the peace and harmonious nature of Pakistani people and Pakistan to the world.
The Exhibition will remain open for two days from morning till evening and the work of the artist is also on sale for the Art lovers from far and wide.
Ambassadors, Diplomats, members of civil society including media, academicians, artists and students have also taken keen interest in the Exhibition.
